Verses 2-3:
- Bring those around me without Christ to salvation
- Teach me to devote my life’s focus and meaning to You
- Enable me to have proper perspective and joy as I work this week
- Make me see my toil as a way to glorify You
Verses 4-5:
- Show me areas where I’ve made an idol of my legacy
- Reveal to me ways to invest in generations that are to come
- Thank You for the sun and its warmth, energy and light
Verses 6-7:
- Praise You for being in control of nature
- Thank You for water and how it sustains us
- Thank You for being the living water, eternally quenching our spiritual thirst
- Thank You for the streams and seas and the variety of good food they provide us
Verses 8-11:
- Let me feel Your presence and draw closer to You in my weariness
- Teach me to be fully satisfied in You and not in seeing and hearing
- Humble me and teach me from the past
- Thank You for the saints who have gone before us and who’s shoulders we stand on
- Focus me to invest in eternal things that will last, like Your Word, Your glory and the souls of others
